In short
The names, birth details, your notes and what you write in Talk are kept only on your phone, encrypted. There is no account and no server, and we never receive anything you write or say. Charts are worked out on the phone, offline. The only things that use the internet are Google AdMob ads, the download of Talk's model if you choose to use it and, if you pick one, an online voice to read the answers aloud. None of them receives your couples' details.
Who is responsible
Lovers is an app by María Patricia, in Colombia. For any question about privacy, write to astrologiamariapatricia@gmail.com.
What you keep in the app
- Your couples: the names or nicknames you type, the birth dates, times and places, and your notes. They stay on your phone, encrypted with AES-256-GCM. The key lives in the system's secure store (Android Keystore). They are not sent to us or to anyone else.
- What you tell Talk: each person's story and the memories you choose to keep from a conversation. They are saved with their couple, encrypted the same way. The conversations themselves are not saved.
- Your settings: the theme, the language and Talk's own (how the person talks, the voice and the reading speed).
.lovers files, QR codes and the book
You make them, when you choose to export or share. A .lovers file carries all your couples, with their notes, stories and memories; you can protect it with a passphrase you choose. We don't keep that passphrase and cannot recover it. A QR code carries one couple (the names and birth details, never the note) and goes from one phone to another without the internet. The couple's book (PDF) is made on the phone. You decide where each file goes and who you share it with.
Camera and microphone
- QR codes: the camera, or a photo you pick, is used only to read Lovers QR codes. The code is read on the phone with Google ML Kit, and images are neither kept nor sent. ML Kit may send Google anonymous usage and diagnostic data (for example the phone model, the system version and whether the scan worked), under its terms.
- Dictation: if you tap the microphone in Talk, once you give permission, your phone's own speech recognizer turns your voice into text, on the phone. The app does not record or keep the audio. The text lands in the message box for you to check.
Talk
Talk is an artificial intelligence that runs only on your phone. What you write and the couple's reading never leave it.
- The first time you use it, if you agree, the app downloads Google's Gemma 4 model (about 2.6 GB) from Hugging Face, the site that publishes it. The download brings only the model file: it carries nothing of yours. Like any site, Hugging Face receives your connection's IP address.
- Read aloud uses your phone's voices. Some voices work online: the app marks them "online" and never picks one by itself. If you pick one, your phone's voice service (Google's, for example) receives the text it reads.
- Talk is an imaginative game drawn from the chart: it can be wrong and it does not replace a psychologist, a doctor or any other professional.
Ads
Lovers is free and may show Google AdMob ads. They never appear on a reading, in Talk or in the book. To show them, Google's SDK may collect the device's advertising ID, the IP address (from which an approximate location is inferred), device data and interactions with the ads. Google handles that data under its own policy: how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
- Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), the app asks for your consent before showing personalized ads.
- You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ads → Ad privacy, and in your phone's ad settings.
- Names, birth details, your notes and your conversations are never shared with Google or with advertisers.
What we don't do
There is no sign-up and no log-in. We add no analytics or crash-reporting tools (the ML Kit reports above are Google's and we don't see them). We don't sell data, because we don't receive any.
How long it is kept and how to delete it
Your data stays on the phone until you delete it or uninstall the app. In Settings → Privacy you can delete each thing on its own (your couples, your settings, Talk's model, temporary files) or everything at once with "Delete everything from this app". Since we keep nothing, there is no data of yours to delete on our side. Ad data is kept by Google under its policy.
Your rights
We apply Colombia's Law 1581 of 2012 on personal data protection (habeas data). You have the right to know, update, correct and delete your data. In Lovers you do it directly in the app, because your data is on your phone. If you write to us, you can also exercise them over what you send us, and file a complaint with the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC).
Age
Lovers is meant for adults and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change it, we will publish the new version on this page with its date.
