In these texts, A is the person whose Venus is read and B the person whose Venus receives it.
Facilitating contact
What we usually call “chemistry” appears: attraction and a readiness for closeness. Contact feels pleasant even when the other person’s appearance doesn’t match the type of partner each thought they preferred.
Obstructing contact
There may be discomfort with touch, even if the other’s company is enjoyable in other areas. Scent, caresses or the way of coming close may not awaken the expected pleasure.
The feeling may not appear at first and may become more visible as intimacy grows. It may also be lived as a distance the other person keeps and that is not easy to understand.
In the system, this is considered one of the hardest aspects to reconcile, because feelings don’t change simply by reasoning about them. Other favorable Venus contacts can moderate the difficulty. Even so, it is best to acknowledge it and attend to both people’s experience, without forcing closeness.
Aspects of Venus
Venus represents the way we give and receive affection, sensuality, charm and physical closeness. Its aspects are read in relation to the attraction, enjoyment or discomfort that another person’s closeness can awaken. As you read these descriptions, think about how you enjoy affection with your partner and how they like to receive it.
The intensity of that experience depends on the synastry as a whole and on the awareness with which both live the bond. Inventory 1 is also essential: family and cultural models influence how comfortable we feel with touch. Two people can feel attraction and have different needs for closeness.
Respecting your own boundaries and your partner’s allows closeness to become a shared discovery. No description of affinity replaces what each person wants or accepts at a given moment.
