How your element score is worked out (17 points)

The thirteen positions and seventeen points that measure your mobility, your motivations and the way you decide.

How the mobility score is obtained

The measurement is made on each birth chart separately. This system uses thirteen positions and assigns them values that add up to seventeen points:

  1. Identify the sign of each position considered: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, lunar node, Part of Fortune and Ascendant.
  2. Assign two points to each of these four positions: Sun, Moon, Mercury and Ascendant. This group adds up to eight points.
  3. Assign one point to each of the remaining nine positions: Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, lunar node and Part of Fortune. This group adds up to nine points.
  4. Distribute the seventeen points among the four groups, according to the sign each position occupies.

The table sums up the weighting:

Positions considered: Sun, Moon, Mercury and Ascendant; Number of positions: 4; Value of each: 2 points; Subtotal: 8 points.

Positions considered: Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, lunar node and Part of Fortune; Number of positions: 9; Value of each: 1 point; Subtotal: 9 points.

Positions considered: Total; Number of positions: 13; Value of each: —; Subtotal: 17 points.

To express the results as percentages, divide each group’s score by 17 and multiply by 100. “Thirteen positions” and “seventeen points” are different quantities: the first counts the positions considered, and the second adds up the value assigned to each one.

The classification is as follows:

Mobility group: Hydrogen, called fire in traditional terminology; Signs: Aries, Leo and Sagittarius; Orientation the system describes: Intense physical movement, action and initiative.

Mobility group: Silicates, called earth in traditional terminology; Signs: Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn; Orientation the system describes: Activity aimed at a use or a concrete result.

Mobility group: Oxygen, called air in traditional terminology; Signs: Gemini, Libra and Aquarius; Orientation the system describes: Movement stimulated by curiosity, fun, learning and communication.

Mobility group: Water; Signs: Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces; Orientation the system describes: Activity linked to affection, passion, inspiration and service, together with a preference for rest.

Some people have a balanced distribution and recognize themselves in several forms of activity. In others, one or two groups hold a good part of the score, while the rest have little or no presence. The whole picture shows which activities may feel more natural and which call for more effort or motivation.

When you compare both charts, you’ll find similar distributions, partial overlaps or very different needs. These differences don’t decide the fate of a relationship on their own.

The four groups and their combinations help you choose activities and talk about the agreements you need, without mistaking a preference for rest or for staying home for a lack of affection.
